Overview

Do you frequently get fatigued? Problems maintaining a healthy weight? It could be that both your adrenals and thyroid could benefit from herbal support.

There are adaptogen herbs which increase resistance to adverse effects from long-term stress, like Ashwagandha, Eleuthero and Holy Basil. These adaptogens, used in our Adrenal/Thyroid Tonic, help you to relax and increase stamina. Taken during the day, they can also help you have a more restful night's sleep.

Stress affects both adrenal and thyroid glands. It is no surprise that energy production can be lowered if either of these endocrine glands are not functioning up to par. They both may need support when your ability to respond to stress is compromised.

The herbs in our Adrenal/Thyroid Tonic nourish to support and balance healthy glandular function - and help you handle the fatigue and emotional stresses without over-stimulatiing your systems. Adrenal/Thyroid Tonic does not whip your adrenals to action. Rather it helps you feel grounded again with a perfect combination of adaptogens and supporting herbs that strengthen and nourish both adrenals and thyroid to give a greater feeling of well-being.

More About Adrenal and Thyroid Function and Interaction

The adrenal glands sit atop the kidneys and produce hormones that mobilize resources for energy when you are under stress. When the adrenals become exhausted from experiencing constant stress, you can feel fatigued, find it difficult to bounce back, and often crave salty, fatty snacks for energy. It is easy to gain weight and difficult to lose it when your adrenals are constantly producing the cortisol hormone. Irritable, tired and unable to relax... that isn't fun nor any successful way to live life.

The thyroid regulates the metabolism, so lowered thyroid function can also manifest in fatigue and lack of energy. Further, a slow thyroid can cause slowed reflexes, constipation and heavy menstrual periods. Other parts of the picture may be lower body temperature and sensitivity to cold, weight gain despite decreased appetite and hair loss. Good health includes supporting and maintaining a healthy thyroid!

Stress and exhausted adrenals can affect the thyroid, down-regulating it to slow the body down when the adrenals are too exhausted to meet the stress. In fact, some of the many symptoms are so similar, it is hard to tell which endocrine is not functioning well, and often the thyroid is treated, while adrenal fatigue is overlooked.

But supporting adrenal health can take the burden off the thyroid, so it can respond and function better too. Supporting both organs with nourishing herbs and roots is the sensible thing to do to maintain good health and energy levels when you have been stressed.

Adrenal / Thyroid Tonic

I am back to get more Adrenal/Thyroid Tincture. I ran out so I am getting two this time. My doctor had said I had a swelling on my thyroid so I wanted to try some natural support. I went back and had a sonogram and my doctor said the swelling is shrinking. I feel better too. ~ F. J. Florida
