Insomnia, The Cherry Solution

Apothe-Cherry Cherry Concentrate (V10-I2D) According to the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services,
about 60 million Americans suffer each year from insomnia,
which can lead to serious sleep deficits and a host of health
related complications. Insomnia tends to increase with age and
affects about 40 percent of women and 30 percent of men. As
we age, our brain produces less quantities of melatonin that is
largely responsible for the regulation of sleep.

Insomnia can cause a range of difficulties including decreased
cognitive function, poor memory, depression and irritability. It
can also lead to weight gain, high blood pressure and a decrease
in the effectiveness of your immune system.

Although the number of hours each person requires in deep
sleep varies tremendously, what is prevalent are the symptoms
related to insufficient sleep.

Sleeping aids, including Ambien, Sonata and Lunesta, have the
highest rate of sale of all drugs on the market, and the use of drugs
in the benzodiazepine class, including Valium, Xanax, Ativan and
Klonopin are also prescribed at an alarming rate. Ironically, many
of these drugs are highly addictive and have side effects that
include insomnia, agitation and even suicidal ideation.

The use of sleeping medications has increased by 16% in the
elderly. This is a group that already had a high rate of medication
usage and may not realize the risk through drug interactions or
the high rate of addiction or dependence. As a result many
individuals continue on sleeping pills for years.

Ironically, there is natural and effective treatment for insomnia
available from one of nature's unique fruit. Montmorency Tart
Cherries contain extremely rich amounts of Melatonin, a natural
hormone produced in the pineal gland at the base of the brain.
Melatonin is an antioxidant that enhances sleep as well as
destroys the free radicals that cause aging and cell death.

Melatonin levels are low during the day. At sunset, less available
light signals the brain to release the necessary melatonin. This rise
continues for hours, eventually peaking between 2 and 3 a.m. If
the timing or intensity of the melatonin peak is disrupted due to
aging, stress, or jet lag, many physiological and mental functions
are adversely affected. The ability to think clearly, remember key
acts, and make sound decisions can be profoundly hampered by
these upsets in the biological clock.

Montmorency Tart Cherries have the highest quantities of
melatonin than any other food item. There are other foods such
as milk, peanuts, turkey, chicken or almonds that contain
tryptophan, which can raise brain serotonin that can be converted
to produce melatonin. Bananas also contain melatonin but not
in significant levels to be effective.

Apothe-Cherry Cherry Concentrate is made from 100% pure
Montmorency Tart Cherries from the highest quality cherries.
Not all cherry extracts are equal and many are fully pasteurized
which destroys the valuable enzymes. Apothe-Cherry Cherry
Concentrate is flash pasteurized only to kill surface bacteria
while maintaining enzyme content. It also contains antioxidants,
melatonin, anthocyanins and two important favonoids - isoqueritrin
and queritrin.

This natural cherry extract not only has been proven to improve
the quality of sleep but also to aid in the inflammation associated
with many ailments. Health Freedom Resources endorses this
terrific product.
