Circulation and Lymph System Stimulation

Natural healing involves a number of techniques to get good results.  Proper nutrition and detoxification are important parts, but they can’t bring results without moving the body. Today let’s talk about the importance of moving. Why is it so important to move?  Why does it help our lymph system to exercise and with that our health?

  • The lymphatic system helps the immune system in removing and destroying waste, dead blood cells, toxins.
  • The lymphatic system absorbs fats and fat-soluble vitamins from the digestive system and delivers these nutrients to the cells of the body where they are used by the cells.
  • It also removes excess fluid, and waste products from the interstitial spaces between the cells.

But unlike blood which gets help from the heart to move around, the Lymphatic system doesn’t get any help and needs us to move so it can help our immune system and get rid of toxins.

Exercise

Any exercise will do, to get the body moving to activate the lymph system. If you enjoy bike rides, walks or running go on and enjoy them. Yoga stretches and Pilates help too. Even if you park your car further from the store or take the occasional stairs all this contributes to help the lymph system. The basic idea is to get the body moving in a way you are comfortable with, and then increase from there. I personally love rebounding it is one of the fasted ways to activate the lymph system.

If you can’t exercise at all or want to increase circulation even more, here are some ideas:

Massages

Enjoy a nice relaxing massage and help your lymph system at the same time. A good massage promotes the healthy functioning of your lymph system by directly stimulating and relaxing your muscles.  Massage therapy affects the cardiovascular system, lymphatic system and immune system. It helps flushing metabolic wastes and helps distribute nutrients throughout to the body. Massage also increases the number and function of white blood cells, and so strengthens the immune system. With a massage our tissues and muscles get moved and with that our lymph system gets activated.

Skin Brushing

Use a natural bristle brush and brush your whole body with the dry bristles. This removes dead skin cells and increases blood circulation, so the body can move out toxins. When you are done with brushing the whole body, enjoy a nice hot and cold shower for more benefits. Read our full article on hot and cold shower here.

Cayenne

The health benefits of cayenne are almost unlimited. Many cultures, especially the Americas and China, use Cayenne therapeutically. Cayenne increases circulation so it helps to move nutrition and herbal properties into the cell and toxins out. So it can help to nourish and detox the body.

Flush the lymphatic system with plenty of good water. It’s also very beneficial to start the day with a glass of lemon water; it gets the lymph system started.
